DOE Announces $3 Million in Funding to Verdant Power and Columbia Power Technologies

The U.S. Department of Energy announced $3 million in additional awards to advance the technology readiness of wave and tidal energy technologies. Columbia Power Technologies will receive $1.5 million for the advancement of their Columbia Power prototype wave energy conversion system. Verdant Power will receive $1.5 million to advance the commercial readiness of its Kinetic Hydropower System, which is planned for future deployment as part of the Roosevelt Island Tidal Energy project in New York City.
